'The Alienation Office 1577', 3 King's Bench Walk (North), Inner Temple, London.

Some of the story of the building - carved into the panel to the left of the door as we look - is (hopefully) legible when the image is viewed at larger scale.

EDIT : Just by way of additional historical info (greatly truncated and simplified so my apologies in advance for anything I might have missed-out!) for those that way inclined;

The small escutcheon panel on the RHS of the brick arch above the numeral '3' features the winged horse from Greek mythology 'Pegasus'. This has been, since 1561, the emblem (and coat of arms) which signifies the Inner Temple and all premises belonging to that body has such a plaque displayed denoting their status . The Middle Temple, OTOH, has The 'Lamb of God' holding 'The True Cross' and is superimposed over the flag of St. George (patron saint of England) as its coat of arms and, similarly, these buildings are duly marked.

Both the Inner- and Middle Temple houses have their genesis in the Knights Templar (of Crusades Fame / Notoriety) from whose body - and whose Physical Centre - this whole quarter of London ('Temple') takes its name and all of these symbols mentioned above were symbols which had been adopted by the Knights Templar.
