I also did a timelapse at the full 24MP of the CL, trying to gauge if video stacking yields better results than timelapse. Will report here soon, of course. 

Reporting back on timelapse vs video, video wins by a mile. So much so that it's not even worth posting here. 

Between the crop that the CL applies to 4K video and the amount of data captured in video (497 frames) vs timelapse (37 frames) it should be pretty logical why the video route is the best way to go for this kind of application. What surprised me was just how clean the CL's video actually is, even though it's a compressed format. Definitely opens up avenues for exploration (for me) in terms of stacking.

Couple with the Sigma 100-400, typical results, good relatively close, Robin was around 6 metres away.  Not so good with feather details at distance, Buzzard was around 40 metres away.

CL with 60mm apo macro elmarit taken last spring, apple blossom in the garden. it was a very good year for apple blossom, so I am hoping for a good year in 2021. jpeg ooc with some adjustments in LR
