Just one more from Blaenau Ffestiniog. It's a lunar landscape up here.

Gerd

Gerd, I like your picture which tells an interesting story. A worthy result indoors with the standard zoom lens. All with natural lighting. It is a fine choice.

Interesting set Paul.  I especially like how nature is taking back in the first.  Know just where you are, though you seem to have found Blaneau on a brighter day than I've ever managed, always seems even darker grey, moody and wet when I've visited.  I regularly walk around Bryn Eglys slate quarry which has a similar striking landscape but not these wonderful buildings and workings.

This was last Saturday - the one day when it didn't rain heavily! This is the one labelled Mine De Maenofferin on google maps.

Few more from Budapest.  Couldn't go without checking out what Ruin Bars were all about.  Found Szimpla Kert and had an enjoyable hour or so listening to a band called Cimbaliband, found out since that it was all actually recorded live and streamed to Youtube (Jan 29th).  Mostly CL with CV 75.  Colours are "as was" if a little wacky.   I was definitely the oldest person in the place by a country mile!

Couldn't miss one of this red faced chap (very devilish - all down to the lights) simply because of his red dot.  He was the band videographer for the evening but occasionally stopped his filming to pick up his Leica..

And a couple from the fascinating interior

You and he both focusing manually in very low light. An inspiration!

My dear wife and I drove up that road on our way to Conway. That slate business must have employed a lot of hard working, skilled Welshmen. I’m 30% Welsh.

I think I prefer the moody B&W Albert.

Left photography alone for many years and only recently bought myself a long longed for Leica, took this shot as it appealed to me at Battlesbridge antique market last week. (The phot is selecting in the wrong orientation for some reason?) sorry!

I will take your preference under advisement. Thanks for the peek.

After taking your preference under advisement the result is complete agreement with your preference. Once again, thanks for your point of view.

Figures I picked up during our visit: the population of Blaenau a few decades ago: 40,000; population now: 10,000.
