The National Library of France (BnF), so called since 1994, is the national library of the French Republic, inaugurated under this new name on March 30, 1995 by the President of the Republic François Mitterrand and heiress of the royal collections constituted since the end of Middle Ages.

I give you a present on the same photo: a Paris scooter, an American motorcycle, and in the distance the new Russian orthodox cathedral with its gold-gilded bulbs.

Two shots for dear good old forum friends. But as the forum seems not taking direct links any longer, I am posting them separately with my apologies.

Yes. Agreed. Photography as we know it is on its last breath. Recording reality has become easy, and manipulating the results is common place.

My father, who was born in 1923, used to say B&W photography was dead in in the 70's. He was partially wrong, and partially right. I am seeing it before my very eyes.

I imagine everybody will record their lives, and be able to edit the recording later with how to guides to make it a "Photograph." Hell, I just read an article where software can make you draw like an expert (in the digital medium). We already have voice correction software that has been used for a decade, at least.

The industrial revolution gave us carbon in the atmosphere. The digital revolution will have similar results, on many fronts.

But I like the picture. Thanks for putting up with my rant.

Social trends tend to be circular. Our cynicism of today can turn around largely though a public natural skepticism to look for meaningfulness through what we once knew as as professional photojournalists,  visual social anthropologists.

Very nice picture. I never use a nd filter. Interested to know the difference if not applying the filter on this picture.

We can only hope. And hope the pursuit of the almighty greenback doesn't poison that meaningfulness the way it has for over a century.

I didn't know the TL 35 1.4 could produce a swirly bokeh.
