Photomerge in Photoshop gives excellent results as well. However, it saves a lot of work if you use a camera that offers post-focus.

Sorry Jaapv, I know wrong place for questions, but I hate not understanding something, I have used photomerge to good effect I agree, but I do not know what "post-focus" is in a camera, can you please enlighten me.

Oh, no worries - googled it (should have done that before posting) - very interesting, like that very much.

I have that lens, but I can't make it make pictures like that!

I am sure you could. This is my oldest lens and is really good and sharp. I am not using it very often because I can't control the background to obtain the kind of shallow I like.

But it has a very pleasing IQ. :)

Fresh from the box, photo # 2.

This granite erratic is in the darkest deepest part of our backyard. A person has to fight his way through cedar trees just to get to it. We call it the secret place and Im positive that it has never been photographed until I brought a Leica 35mm 1.4 into the area. Made in Germany. Bigger does Matter.

I have a sneaky feeling that many new CL owners have thousands of dollars of M, R, lenses etc. hanging around their villas. I don’t. I love the results of the MODERN lenses. Sorry for your sour grapes. I am thrilled.

Glad you are happy Albert and enjoying your new lens.  First image was lovely, no idea what that bush is but would like one in my garden.   Your second image seems to have just a little camera shake noticeable, probably because of your description of where the subject matter was sitting.  Anyhow, I'm a big fan of the 35 TL too, even though I do have M and R lenses.  The 35 TL is usually my lens of choice when grandchildren are around because of being able to use AF and tracking but if I'm travelling, a forty year old 35mm 1.4 pre asph takes up so much less room in my bag.  Anyhow, enough, we'll get into trouble for not being about the images, so here's one from me, using the CL, TL35, AF and Tracking.

`Arrival of some Tups (Rams) in the field ready to make next years lambs, has Poopy a little worried, but they seems friendly enough.  CL with my £80 Tokina 100-300 (another reason the CL is a hit for me - ability to use so many old lenses).

Nice picture.  I would have used a bit more contrast though, but that's just to my taste ...
