hello,  in the presence of the artist , i attended in october 2019 the inauguration of the new work of jeff koons near les champs elysées.
he offered this bouquet of tulips to the city of paris in memory of the 2015 attacks.
I discovered on this occasion that he wears the buttonhole rosette of the legion of honor the highest French distinction.

It's interpretative. Because Koons's creations are so dramatic in surface shine, ejk64 decided to provoke by intentionally throwing his face a bit out of focus. 😀

This one from the River trip, just because I love all the twinkly lights - CL 35mm M doing well with ISO 6400, does look better full size on flickr.

hello , saint petersburg _cathédrale Saint-Sauveur-sur-le-Sang-Versé  .

to hide the scaffolding from the renovation of the central dome I took this photo of the neighboring park by incorporating a tree into it.

Construction began in 1883 during the reign of Alexander III, as a memorial in honor of his father Alexander II. Work progressed slowly and was finally completed in 1907 during the reign of Nicholas II. It was the imperial family, helped by many patrons who financed the construction.

inside it is not a fresco painted on the 7,500 m2 of walls, vaults and ceilings, but of the mosaic.

therefore 75 million small 1cm x 1cm tiles were required.

Hi Jayne:

You've got such great shots of Budapest! I'd share mine, here, but they were taken with the Leica Q.  If you decide to post an open thread in the "travel' section, I'll join in with some.

Regards, Rob

Thanks Rob, will do.  I took my M10 too and have a few that may be good enough to share.   Would be nice to see your photos,  it is a wonderful destination for happy snappers like me though I could have done with a little less rain😀.

Budapest is such an interesting place to visit.  Please send me a note when you post your thread and I'll join in with some photos.

On another note, looks like you're not going to make it to NYC?  Rob

Will do Rob.  Looking unlikely now sadly.  My Budapest trip was a surprise from my lovely other half and he's also booked a trip for both of us at the end of April, so I may have used all my travel vouchers for now🙁.
