No amount of dragging the clarity slider to the left reduces the wrinkles enough it seems. Those pesky ear hairs. If it hadn’t been white it wouldn’t have been noticed. I know. I've been looking at the f/4 macro, which, ironically, is very small! More for travel, I guess, and wondering if I'd see much of a difference in image quality. That f/4 macro 90 is a wonderful lens if you can live with the slower speed. Also very handy if you like the occasional close shots.

I also have an older thin tele elmarit 90 m (2.8) that I sometimes take with me when I travel - just doesn't match up to the apo. I took this photo here in Venice with the CL and 90, this was minutes after a fumbled lens change that saw me dropping it, it hit the paving quite hard and I just about managed to stop it rolling into the canal. Results were a broken filter, a dent in the lens hood and slight dent in the filter thread - lens still wearing the scars but seems not to have affected the IQ thankfully. One day I will stump up for a repair. She wasn't posing for me but it was some magazine photo shoot going on so I took a few snaps too. . Welcome, dear visitor! Gregm61 Posted January 26, 2020 Share #8234 Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) I really do like this 55-135mm Vario Elmar. Aperture Priority and Auto ISO limited to 6400 at the high-end and setting the camera to select a shutter speed of 4x the focal length selected is the ticket. This lens, the 11-23 Vario and 35mm f1.4 is pretty much about all I need, and it fits in my Fogg B-Minor bag like the bag was designed for the setup. Gregm61 Posted January 26, 2020 Share #8236 Posted January 26, 2020 The settings are primarily with the 55-135 in mind but I leave them there most of time whether I'm using any of the three lenses. Choosing the ISO myself I'm limited to the full ISO settings (100, 200, 400, etc), while in Auto ISO the camera can choose to to go ISO 160 instead of 200, or 320 instead of 400, etc, and it probably keeps the ISO's lower that I would if I were selecting manually.
