Well, nothing is ever a thing of the past if it works but it can be clichéd which is something different. Why not try a different approach? Adjust the saturation and vibrance of your image till the colour is no longer intrusive then pop the red. It will look a little more natural too. You can take the colour quite close to monochrome without losing it completely.

Oh, and welcome.

Thanks Dippy - "clichéd" I agree ;)

I will try the saturation and vibrance technique. Always learning.

B&W version in the B&W thread, can't decide which I prefer

Absolutely beautiful - colour version for me.

OK this one is totally certifiable. I was trying to shoot the air show, and pulled out a Rollei Zeiss 250mm MF lens, with adapter to Canon, then to L mount. Couldn't find a plane but found  other flying object nearby. So this is handheld, manual focus, cropped.... 1/800 sec. ISO 1600. In the original you can count the hairs on the legs.

The secret observer and his helping eyes. The pictures are processed in a lot of steps. The basis was a photo of the rest of a blossom of a lotus, which is very similiar to a lot of eyes. This photo  was made with the CL and th 90/280. Have fun !
