This establishes the scale nicely.  In the first shot they just looked recently sheared.  In Scotland two weeks ago we saw relatively few lambs, but it hadn't occurred to me that they were waiting for better weather.  They only arrive in ones and twos, don't they?

Well generally the farmer in our field knows to a few days when the ewe's are due from when they were put to the Tupp, and yes usually ones and two's though quite a few triplets born this year - these three were born here a few days ago and I shot this a few moments after the last one got to her feet, I was quite a distance away (hence not a very good shot also B&W because it looks a bit yucky in colour) so as not to disturb the Mom but also on hand in case she got into trouble.   When they come in three's its usually means a bit of supplementary bottle feeding is necessary.

Very impressive photos everyone.  A broad range of lighting and subject matter that makes the most of the sensor and lenses.  And, unfortunately for me, signals the end of my relationship with my beloved M9, which has served as a backup to my M10.

This evening at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center. We're just done with a three day blizzard, 19" snow accumulation. Was pretty treacherous driving, lots of cancellations, and repeated driveway cleanouts needed. But sometimes there's a decent shot at the end of it.

11-23mm Super Vario Elmar T.

The resolution on the photo loaded to flickr is much larger than forum limits. But hopefully this link is acceptable. 1024 X 683, although I don't know how many kilobytes for this ...
