jtharvie Posted August 15, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 15, 2006 That is a very nice capture. I really like the lack of any background. Very nice results for a first roll of film.
stuny Posted August 15, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Christopher - What a lovely, sensitive, low-key portrait. Did your father like it?

Guest chriisi Posted August 16, 2006 Share #9 Posted August 16, 2006 hmm.. No, he did not like it that much, because it makes him look old, and some kind of sad.. My mom liked it I don't know, many people have problems if you show them pictures of them when they aren't smiling..
semrich Posted August 16, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 16, 2006 Christopher, Very nice, in time you father will grow to like this picture. I really like this kind of low light shot, it brings a lot of feeling into the moment. In the end it is all about the moment and you have captured it well. Guest evita Posted August 20, 2006 Share #15 Posted August 20, 2006 Just to be on the save side then: less light in the duka, in order to have some structure in the dark areas (there is, I've tried in PS), to let him have a bit of surrounding. It could be that you'll need to give a bit more light to the skin, not sure, working with a neagive and PS is a challenge for me! And, as always, just my 0,02 €

uulrich Posted August 22, 2006 Share #18 Posted August 22, 2006 Christopher, A wonderful, classic and strong picture. I would have removed the bottle of beer somehow - perhaps PS can do...?
Guest leica_mage Posted August 22, 2006 Share #19 Posted August 22, 2006 Almost perfect. Only the cropped right hand costs it some points. Or it should have been left out - but don't crop it! Keep up the brilliant work.
