Leica may not consider this a defect, as it views correctly with the eye centered on the VF.  That is not to say that a re-adjustment / alignment of the optics wouldn't improve it, but I've seen other irksome  VF/RF issues that Leica claimed "met factory specs" - but were cured by an independent tech. For example, most M6 cameras could "white-out" the RF window in some lighting conditions if the eye wasn't perfectly centered in the eyepiece, and they were made that way for decades.

To add more description of symptom:
*I'm wearing glasses and testing also w/o glasses

1.  I put my eyes in the center: all 28/35/50 frame lines are fine

2. Then I move my eye upward: all 28/35/50 frame lines are fine

3. If I move my eye downward even very slightly: Lower line of 50mm frame vanishes, while 28/35 lines are all clear.
(For 35 and 50 I tested with both w/ and w/o lens)

So, if you put your eye in the centre all framelines are fine! Excellent, you fixed it!

Hi TomB_tx,

Yes, I'm aware of "white-out" issue with M6 and early version of M7 viewfinders. Yet, my case is only with bottom line of 50mm frame. All other lines (Top, Left, Right lines for 50mm and all lines for 28/35mm) are clearly visible with all eye position. It really is annoying me when taking photos with 50mm lenses.

I know it's not the same issue or cause, but it shows Leica's attitude that some such complaints are "user error" by not keeping the eye centered on the VF - so they may respond that way.

Absolutely I agree. That attitude really crashes users' perspective on the name of MP(Mechanical Perfection) with such huge price.

MP viewfinder answered the whiting out of M6's by incorporating a lens (or reflector) in the path.

Maybe this is the faulty part ?

@Jimmy Kang

If the MP is under warranty, send it to Leica,

if not ask independant repairer to cure it.

Oh, that is possible scenario, I guess. I contacted the local distributor already but they insisted that it was quite 'Normal", one employee  (M3 user) personally expressed it was 'weird' though. I'm waiting for final opinion from Leica Korea and I have an intention to send to Leica Germany with my expense if my case is not accepted by Leica Korea.

I think Leica are well versed in interpreting user error, they must get this a lot. As a spectacle wearer (like the OP) I have to carefully centre my eye (which becomes intuitive in a very short time) over the viewfinder of my MP, or my M4-P, but not my M2. If I don't a frameline may disappear, but generally I don't care about that too much because I know intellectually where it should be, like being able to make an educated guess what will be in the picture with the sometimes invisible 28mm framelines. Wearing spectacles increases the distance from the viewfinder window which narrows the angle and initially you may have to be a bit more precise centring the eye, but not impossible given all the glasses wearers who use M cameras.
