I have 23 of the early Leicaflex, 6 in Black paint, the rest chrome. I guess I am too lazy to take them out of the display case.  They are built like a "tank", and all the meters work except one or two. I like to get odd lenses for them, such as the 21 f3.4 (requires mirror lock-up), and chrome finish flex lenses. I continue to search for the earlies version, 1080001-1080100 (null series?).

I just bought a 50mm Summicron R, previously I have used a 65mm Elmar on adaptors.

Finished a roll of FP4 in my latest black 111 yesterday. Just deciding which camera to load next,  Leicaflex, M4P or Leica 1f ? Maybe Leicaflex and 1f ?

I only have one Leicaflex Standard, in chrome, with a matching chrome 35/2.8. I do have 3-4 SL's, one of which my dad bought for me when I was 17. That one is Black Paint. And a SL-2 Mot with Motor. Not sure why I still have all of them!

Bill, perhaps because you're a Leica-guy? 😉

That might have something to do with it! 🙂

I try to keep all of the cameras and lenses that either my dad used or he bought me when I was young.

Romanus, nice combo! Although I find this lens very fascinating I also find it rather difficult to use. Or rather it is the package designed by Novoflex that is fascinating, the lens itself it simple but very nice.

JC, that Novoflex Xenar 135mm that Romanus shows us was one of many inventions by Novoflex to find systems to make focusing faster and easier. Many years before this lens they introduced the Follow focus lenses, with a pistol grip to fast focus.

Lex is right, the rapid-focus devices made by Novoflex have some drawbacks and I would opt for other variants of the Xenar which was a little bit slow with 4.5 at that time, otherwise a fine lens. Maybe the shown specimen is a little unkown outside Germany, at least I can provide a manual, German only but perhaps you enjoy the pictures.novoflex_135.pdf
