That’s not what reidsreview findings were by the way. Not that I care since these differences are so minimal you only notice when pixel peeping.

Sean Reid did not test ISO64 performance, yet. His noise/DR tests are useful, but not (yet) comprehensive. So far he has published 2 of his planned 6 tests. The test #6 is titled: Tests of highlight headroom and useable dynamic range: M11, M10-R and M10 Monochrom.

thank you for all answers. I have an old MM9, love it. was looking at upgrading, M11 sounded a good option as color + BW at 60MP perhaps is about the same as MM9. but perhaps not. MM10 looks stunning and really would be the ideal successor, will see what to do. maybe time to consider selling the MM9?

Listening to Red Dot Forum's latest stream on the M11, starting at 56th minute: their testing is that the M11 is "roughly equivalent in ISO performance than the M10R", then later David Farkas qualifies that "roughly" with saying the M11's performance is "1/3 to 1/2 stop better". This should be taken as indicative.

But then main point here, and in consideration to the OP's query, is that according to Red Dot Forum, the M10M is 2 stops better in ISO performance than the M10R and on that basis is significantly better (say 1.5 stop-ish) than the M11 as well.

The effective resolution of the M Monochrom is more like 30MP, not 60MP. But of course there are many other changes besides resolution that occurred from the MM to the M10 Monochrom, let alone the M11, and not just the different sensor technology. Rather than list all these technical and practical differences, I encourage you to first demo or rent a M10 Monochrom and make your own assessment by shooting and processing pics using your own workflow, hopefully to include printing, which for me is the only way to appreciate the results.

M11M's high iso will be better than M10M and downsampling M11, even better than an infrared CCTV...

Sony's high ISO is already at 409,600, so everyone want to shots at the dark (deepest dark)...

Looking forward to it!

Could somebody explain, what that graph shows? What is photographic DR (log2(EV))?

According to Leica the camera has a DR of 14 or 15.

DR can be measured in different ways. When comparing, it is important to use the same method. DxO, PhotonsToPhotos, and various manufacturers measure all in different ways.
