1940 Chevvy coupe, coming back from CA to the hands of the third generation of original owners.  Fourth generation also waiting.

 

 

 

The house in back went up in 1870.

It's an old tradition, requiring ruggedness as much as speed:

Henry Ford is quoted as saying that "auto racing began about five minutes after the second car was sold..."  He raced against this 1901 Winton Bullet (one of five ever made), won, and got new funding after his first bankruptcy.
