Cloudy sunset at Zugspitze, Bavaria. Leica M11 and Carl Zeiss Sonnar 2/85 ZM. With this focal length the first 2 shots hand held were not absolutely sharp so I made the following shots from the tripod. For this picture 2 photos taken from the tripod were merged in Lightroom.

Ok, this is not really a serious work, but I got a Visoflex III and an Elmar 3.5/65 mm very cheap, and what can I say, it's just fascinating to just flange the technology from several decades together and ... click!

Nice to know that the 2/85 ZM works great on M11. Mine is an outstanding performer on my M10-R..

It may be just the season, but I think there have been a strong selection of deep cloudy skies with strong highlights and strong shadow details in this thread from the M11.  I think the combination of matrix metering to protect highlights (somewhat) and the long scale of the ISO range from 64-160 contributes to this tendency to make pictures like  this:

work out pretty well.

Here's another long-scale example at ISO 64. Exposure reduced in post by one stop and maximum Capture One shadow recovery to lighten the decorative moulding in shadow at the bottom.

The same shot, taken at ISO 200, lost about half a stop in the highlight headroom.  In my best compromise the sky came out a little less intense.

I agree, Scott.  The light in San Francisco has been unusually hard, bright and fairly warm.  Contrasty, where normally it's more... diffuse...?   At any rate, I like to photograph this light with this camera.
