TT Artisans 50 1.2 (apsc L mount) on the CL

What a fun lens!

A pleasure to mount without an M mount adapter onto the CL.

Small, lightweight, a pleasure to focus wide open on the CL.  It will also close focus.

$98 USD @ B&H

Indeed, it is a fun and very inexpensive lens. Kirk Tuck wrote an enthusiastic opinion when using it on Leica CL.

I do not consider it lightweight or small. An APO-Summicron-M 50mm with adapter is about the same size and weight (on my scale: 355g vs. 390g).

You're correct. My comment was out of context.  (I'm a bit jaded by the size, mass and weight of the noctilux and 80 1.4).  But, still a pleasure to carry on the CL.

Thanks, Jayne.

Mine arrived a few hours ago (and I'm  just shooting it wide open).

Seems to be decently built, non-click apertures, and the aperture tab is a bit small.  (But, no complaints really beyond my own limitations).

Hope Santa delivers!  :}

Happy holidays,

Rob

Again, lovely samples Rob, your very beautiful little granddaughter is growing fast.

I just ordered one from TTartisans online shop, there was even a Black Friday discount.

Happy holidays to you and your family too Rob, looking like with this new Omicron variant, will be another quiet one!

Congratulations, Jayne!. Black Friday sale . . . even better!

And, thanks.  Jordyn is 6.5 and Jacob is turning 8. Growing up much too quickly.  I'd like to stop the clock - for a few years.

Hope you and yours have a safe and joyous holiday season.

Rob

Nice photos, does illustrate how to use the lens

I was also tempted but I have the 55 f1.4 7Artisans, also an APS-C lens, so I don't need another 1/2 stop. I did buy the 35 f1.4 TT Artisan APS-C, a tiny lens, it hasn't impressed me, the original mount was loose on the camera. Contacted TT Artisan, within 2 weeks I had a new mount for the lens and they included a special screw driver, 10 minutes after opening the envelope I had a lens that was tight on the camera, that was impressive. I understand that both 7 Artisans and TT Artisan lenses are made by the same company DI Optical. They are coming up with good designs that in general hit way above their price.

There can be a fair amount of chromatic aberration when shooting this lens.

Not so much in these shots, which were to show the lens at f1.2 and f 5.6 on the Leica T (original)

Those are impressive images from the TT Artisans lens.

I am a very happy owner of the Voigtlander Nokton-M 50 f1.2. ASPH (currently $949 and B&H).
