All is confirmed - but Terrace is not promised to us. 

€32 each. So if service is good, please have €35 cash each ready on the night

Extra drinks will have to be paid for - there were other beverage menus, but it seemed fairer to have just the one welcome drink included and let people decide how much they drink on the night. i.e. the rest of you shouldnt subsidise my wine comsumption :)

BINDRA RAVI, 20 PAX, 20:00

MENU

Bread and dip (per person) (20)

1 bottle of water (per 4 persons) (5)

Appetizers (per 4 persons)

Eggplant rolls with bacon and Metsovone cheese (5)

Spring rolls with vegetables and sweet chili sauce (5)

Feta cheese in crispy filo pastry with honey and roasted sesame seeds (5)

Pleurotus mushrooms with parmesan, fresh herbs and caramelized balsamic vinegar (5)

Main course (per person)

Grilled Chicken à la crème with baby potatoes (3) 

Kontosouvli on a mini skewer with grilled feta cheese and french fries (13)
Chicken and pork sausages with grilled feta cheese, french fries, pies & dip of mustard-ketchup (1)

Penne pasta with tomato sauce (1)

Risotto with mushrooms (1)

Fish sole fillet with sautéed vegetables (1)

Dessert (per person)

Traditional Ravani with whipped cream and strawberry sauce (20) 

beverages package

1 glass of wine or 1 beer or 1 soft drink

Price: 32 euros/person.

I enjoyed Seville a lot and so booked for Athens originally....then Covid happened and I have also  had a lot of other changes/issues. Photography had taken a back seat for quite a while and I hadn't

For simplicity, why don't those of us who want to get together for a drink on Friday evening meet at Voliotiko Tsipouradiko (the same venue as the Saturday lunchtime meet) at say between 6:00 and 7:00

I'm so sorry, we are late in the game. I just booked a flight from Athens to Hamburg.

If there's a slight possibility to join lunch and dinner, Dagmar and myself would be very happy, indeed.

If you can still add us to the list, we both would like to have Fish sole fillet with sautéed vegetables.

For those arriving early who would like to socialize with other members, is there a handy informal meeting spot where we might get together for evening drinks?  Perhaps the Saturday 1300 venue or nearby?

Anyone have hotel suggestions for the Monastiraki area?

Hi Mike,

I've usually started up a One Challenge WhatsApp Group that in the past has provided a means for everyone to stay with messages while we're there.  I'm planning to do the same so if you'll share your mobile number by PM I'll add you in when I do.  At the moment I'm expecting to be Athens by Thursday evening.

Some members prefer not to use WhatsApp so everyone might not be on there but in the past most have accepted my invitation to join the group.

Since there is a competition going on, people are encouraged to hold back other shots taken at the time until the competition has been concluded, but then it's "game on".

I've never been there before either, so it should be interesting - all the other One Challenge locations have been.

Yes, The One Challenge goes back a long way - all the way to 2004 when there were 12 of us who met on a cold, dark, December day in London.

Since then we have had an annual challenge, now held on the middle weekend in October (barring 2020 and 2021 for obvious reasons) and we have been to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Krakow, Valletta, Venice, Palermo, Wetzlar, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Vienna, Lisbon, Rome, Lyon, Seville, and now Athens.

In addition, there have been other challenges in New York, Kyoto and Melbourne, outside of the regular annual pattern.

Dear all, you don’t know me, and due to personal meetings I can’t join this meetup, however, once I promised some people a drink, so I guess this should be the place to do so.

as I can see, there are around 20 people joining, so five bottles of wine would be in place. 

would you accept my gesture to pay for the wine? Note that we are talking fine greek table wine, not a kind of exclusine foreign country wine: i still want to buy another lens.

if you accept my gesture, i will wire the money and you will send me a photo of the toast…
