PeterGA Posted January 17, 2022 Share #161  Posted January 17, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I enjoy the positioning of the viewfinder on the extreme left of the CL body which is a similar shooting positioning as in M cameras. for interchangeable lens type camera the only candidate that has piqued my interest as far as alternatives to the CL go is the Fuji XPro - because of the positioning of its viewfinder It would be a shame of Leica dropped the CL- it is very different and very innovative in its ergonomics and controls. I much prefer shooting with the CL over any M camera I've owned. If Leica wanted to satisfy the apparent demand for a FF M type body with EVF - they already have the perfect candidate in the CL imo.
Advertisement Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Hi PeterGA, Take a look here Options to replace the CL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted January 17, 2022 Author Share #162 Â Posted January 17, 2022 I spent an hour or two yesterday evening reading up on the Pixii. Pros: takes M lenses, a more than adequate 26mp BSI sensor; clever connectivity; clever OVF/EVF (which I haven't tried); attractive design. Cons: expensive for a camera with no track record; similar size & way of shooting to M11, but only APSC; colour science still a work in progress. Only one thorough written review of the latest version, by 35mmc, which is very positive.

Lots of interesting discussion by a couple of folks who have purchased and are learning/exploring/using the camera. I need to get through my current project. If there's enough money left in the Toy Fund at the end of that, I'll almost certainly order a Pixii. It seems a very nice complement to the CL. G Edited January 18, 2022 by ramarren

A lot of useful practical info there.

There is Fine (16-bit) and Fast (12-bit) mode. The UI is very simple, but different. The iPhone app works very well. Changing ISO and EC is via menu. No Auto ISO. When holding the camera, I sometimes accidentally press the menu/power button, must adjust my grip. There are occasional lockups, but nothing serious, IMO. It is very light and sits nicely in my palm. I like it, it's a fun camera. Note that Pixii has a return policy. I am not going to test it :).
