Having all AF lens's, I wanted a MF lens and the R lens's are the most reasonably priced. I hunted down a ROM lens and picked up a used Leica R to L adaptor, but was surprised that the lens and camera aren't really communicating. The aperture information isn't communicated. Long story short the Novaflex R to L adaptor would have been fine. The right thumb wheel allows you to zoom in and precisely focus. All in all the R lens's work great and some like the older 75-200 have a different rendering that adds a nice touch.

My CL lens kit includes R15/3.5, R19/2.8, R28/2.8, R50/2, R50/1.4, R60/2.8 Macro, R90/2, R100/4 Macro, R135/2.8, R180/4, Focusing Bellows-R, 2x Extender-R, and Macro-Adapter-R (2 of them) in addition to 10, 24, 28, 35, 50, 75, 90, and 135 mm lenses in M-mount. And a Sigma 500mm f/8 reflex tele in Nikon F mount.

The R-mount lenses are the backbone of my use of the CL; the M lenses are generally used as the compact choices (and my ultra wide and ultra fast choices with respect to the 10mm and 35mm). They all work brilliantly on the CL.

I just got a CL and find my M lenses to balance superbly on the CL (much better than the SL).  On the other hand, I feel the R lenses I have (28-90, 80-200, 50/2 v2) are a tad bit large for the CL but are just right for the SL.

Do you use the CL grip or finger loop?

Yes, M lenses are overall a better fit in size and shape for the CL, but on the other hand R lenses are more consistent in terms of where the aperture ring and focus ring are located. I don't normally use zoom lenses ... they always seem too bulky for me, on almost any camera. But this is all a matter of personal predilections... :)

I don't use either the grip or the finger loop. I fit a half case to help improve surface are and texture for a secure grip and better handling when I'm out working with the camera, and take it off when I'm doing technical work where it might otherwise be in the way.

I use TL, SL, M and R lenses on the CL without problems, just avoid the R because two adapters plus the lens make too much volume.

These examples are with the Lux-R 50mm V1
