Has anyone painted the white “Leica” logo, black? This is the one thing I really like about the look of SL2-s.

I am seriously considering getting some model paint and attempting this myself. I am in no way talented with painting.

I have to say that I can never understand the need to paint out the Leica name, mask out the logo and so on :-).  Why bother?

However I do know a bit about paints and my only advise would be to get a fine brush that forms a tip narrower than the width of the white fonts.  Not more than half the width of the white lines at the tip.  The brush should be sufficiently well saturated with the paint so that you don’t need to brush multiple times but not so saturated that it will drip paint or leave an excessively thick coating behind.  Even more, I would recommend practicing on something dispensable a few dimes first!  I would recommend just learning to love the white letters 😄.

Reading that it sounds like common sense to me so pardon me if I just stated the obvious  😊 !

I tried this on my SL2 with a black dry board marker to se how it look. You can easily delete that...After that I sold my SL2 and purchased SL2-S.
But not because of black logo even if he looks cool. I like other advantages of SL2-S over SL2. Mostly for video...
I will make me a sticker with ARRI logo and put it over SL2-S black Leica logo on my SL2-S. I want to confuse even more
other photographer. Here where I live, Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina,  almost nobody know what camera I use.
I don't know why... When I first got my SL I alway said when asked what that camera is that is next Sony A9 and that I am beta tester.
Lot of people believed it... And one time I had heated discussion with one antic store sails-man over my M9M.
He was sure that the camera brand LEICA is from Russia and not form Germany. He did't want to accept the fact that is German camera
even when I showed him a imprint Made in Germany. I am sure that he mixed name LEICA camera  with LAJKA the first dog in space form Russia.
With Leica you can have lot of fun with people... :D

I would have agreed with you until a year or so ago. More and more people want to know what camera I am shooting. Using a M10, people just assume(d) it is/was a film camera or a retro digital. The SL, well, not so much. At first I told people it was a Leica. Then when I would bump into them again they would comment on the camera and the cost. This led to a few conversations that were not ideal. I saw the SL2-s was blacked out and that got me to thinking about doing that to my SL2 and SL. I won't decide for a few months because it breaks my heart to think of doing that to my camera.

Yes, unfortunately people can’t seem to get past the cost.  Though I was reading about the new Sony A1 the other day and the cost is neck-and-neck with the SL2.  The A1 sounds like an amazingly capable camera but I know I wouldn’t enjoy using it.

Try a 1/2” roll of 3M brand black electrical tape. It blends perfectly with the cameras finish, removes cleanly, and does the job without irreversible harm. I use it on the brand, on the red dot, and on the Q2’s red dot. It’s perfect.

Thanks, I was looking for a solution too. I live in San Francisco— where brazen thievery became commonplace during the pandemic. It does seem to have calmed down a bit, but I still get nervous walking around with a huge white LEICA (steal me!) logo on my precious. ;)

Like others have said, just cut out a piece of Gaffe tape and it covers it well.

A piece of back gaffer tape does the trick, and won't leave you wondering months from now, "Why ever did I do that?"

That was exactly my first thought and the. use a small round black stickie over the red dot which is what I do with my SL3 from time to time.
