Digital or film….does it matter….?

Well may be if digital trains the eye to see towards the bland or film prevents exploring creative options.

Regardless…simply love these portraits.

It's too Late for me to change my post...  but i am in search of a Black one.

  Thanks!

Does it have to be an MP, or is an M-A acceptable?  Leica Store San Francisco has a new, black chrome, M-A in stock:

Thank you for not posting this several weeks ago; had you done so, I'd probably now own it, but when Don finishes my M3, I might be wondering why I spent so much for something I "already have".  I love the viewfinder on the M3.  (If I had more $$ I might buy it anyway - I'm still on the waiting list at both B&H and Adorama for an M-A.)

Funny, I'm going through the same thing now - I have a black chrome M-A (and a silver chrome M4) and am on the fence about buying an M3 SS.  It's just hard to justify the > $2K price for an M3 when it's so similar to what I already have (ok, the viewfinder is different).  Of course I could have used that same argument and not bought the M4, but I obviously have limited self-control 😀

P.S. Anyone remember when M3s were under $1K - not long ago?!

Me again...

I was able to find  this place in Germany. Has anyone  used them before?  Thoughts?  good bad?

  Thanks.

If you're looking for a black MP then take a look at my post from yesterday - Tamarkin Camera (a forum sponsor) has a brand new one - or did as of yesterday.

Be aware that if you are in Long Island, you will probably have to pay an import duty on a camera from Germany.

I don't think it will get that far.  When the seller  sent me the link to the Camera (to the ebay auction) it was clearly stated that they do not  ship to the US.

*While typing this i received an Ebay message say if i paid with a Bank transfer and send him an email  he would  make an exception.  Just for the heck of asking

What would the Duty  be on such a Camera?  if it's a lot then i'll just  stay stateside..  Like Tarmarkin   Thanks all!

On a $4,000 I recall paying about $30 in tariff tax.  It was an analogue camera but had an electronic light meter.  The kicker was my credit card company assessed a $200 (or so) fee for an overseas transaction.  I used my regular cash reward card tied to my paypal account when I could have used my World Points credit card that has no fee for overseas transactions.  I begged and pleaded for the credit card company to waive the fee to no avail.  What I thought was a great deal turned into an average deal.

You may want to confirm whether your CC assesses any fees for oversees transactions.
