40 mm is closer to 43 mm which would be perfectly "normal" with 35 film size - I only have "normal" view lenses, same with the Nikons in the range between 45 and 60 mm. I am currently awaiting a "perfect" Pentax 43 mm lens from Japan I will use 50 frame plus a bit on my MP and cut the prints if I have to

Hey together, my lovely wife wants to buy me a new nice little 1.4 40mm VM lens from Voigtländer for Xmas. I shoot only film with my Leica MP (and many Nikons). I am not looking for sharpness as such as my main result. Hence open for some "vintage look/imperfections" in the pictures. Anybody has any experience with SC v MC ? Any recommendations? Thank you very much indeed

I have got a Leica 14875 case NOS for € 179 via eBay from a Leica Store. I have just got it amended by a local craftsmen by replacing the rivet with a button. Hence I can now use the half case part of it on its own. I had to pay €25 only for the amendment and I am very happy with it.

Well I hope you are right normally when it is not available for sale at the moment only, it says so and does not disappear altogether like now Anyway, since I own one and prices for a used black MP would increase even further, it is for my benefit when I sell finally before I die, so who cares

Hi everyone It looks like Leica has discontinued the black version of the MP. It is not listed anymore. Only the silver chrome is still listed. I hope this is not the beginning of the end for the film M ...
