Advertisement Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Hi F-train, Take a look here What‘s the smallest bag (possible) for the Leica Q2?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted July 15 Share #42 Posted July 15 8 hours ago, F-train said: The old leather version is nice! Where did you buy it Daan? (Opsturen vanuit VS kost veel extra…) ONA leather bags look nice, but are heavy and vulnerable to water ingress (like most ONA bags) due to open gaps at corners of top flap. Years ago they also encountered complaints about poor QC and customer service; don’t know if improvements have been made.

(Opsturen vanuit VS kost veel extra…) I bought them back when they were still widely available in the Netherlands, at places like Kamera Express, CameraNU and the Leica Store Amsterdam. I see they’re no longer part of the standard lineup. I do have the leather version as well, the ONA The Prince Street Leather Antique Cognac Messenger Bag (https://onabags.com/collections/messenger-bags/products/the-prince-street). It’s larger, but I use it less often and definitely wouldn’t take it out in all weather conditions. By the way, it’s very beautiful too! When I do bring a larger messenger bag, it’s the Tenba Cooper 13 (grey, https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/tenba-cooper-messenger-review). It’s discreet, very practical with a zippered top for quick gear access, and extremely durable, it easily fits a Q3 and an SL2 with the SL 50mm Summilux side by side, which is my most frequently used combo. For my Q3 alone (with table tripod and spare battery), I use the ONA The Bowery Messenger Bag in black (with brown accents: https://onabags.com/collections/messenger-bags/products/the-bowery?variant=30872547328045). It’s made from water-resistant waxed canvas and handles rough use extremely well, unlike the cognac leather bag, which is meant for a different purpose off course. kenf Posted July 18 Share #44 Posted July 18 I purposely go slightly larger, if a bag is too small (narrow) I find it doesn’t hang right. I’ve been using a Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L with my Q2M for a few years, but I also have a Domke F8 that would work if I ever evict the Nikon RF gear. Wolfs head Posted July 19 Share #45 Posted July 19 Amazon sells a leather bag which is very similar to the Ona Bowery called the Torres MegaGear at UKP 118 currentlly. https://www.amazon.co.uk/MegaGear-MG1332-Genuine-Messenger-Mirrorless/dp/B076ZSG8Q4/ref=sr_1_2?crid=IXDUQ482C1IE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.W2ky29RUw2HT3kdHxkkhym7vQhhFkWqjnBUFKRLdl2qt686DvrzzCW6YPtKJxpBW3iG-k3zfuKp0HRluPl086yvycwdNoj2sWpciHiTDXU-oBbqJTI1r4NRYFTcyvR0h_OvNQpszDCu4bDQh7SBLvj2wKiaLKPj-wi1Fim2xPMH9PYxF60GO_9iKM8phnygV7iuaW-CN0rnHKearOxgGL3CPZ4j0qC_rWhlDallTB8U.LDBG8U0tJqStX9HjJU6abpySIt78rjFihy4Yd4lglo0&dib_tag=se&keywords=Torres%2Bcamera%2Bbag&qid=1752915642&sprefix=torres%2Bcamera%2Bbag%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-2&th=
irwinm Posted July 20 Share #46 Posted July 20 I have been happy with this one for the Q3 43 https://rocknrollstraps.com/shop/camera-bags/bauhaus-camera-bags/bauhaus-crossbody-pouch-black/
luisdent Posted August 3 Share #47 Posted August 3 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can i add a request? I have the same basic goal but will only be using it inside my shoulder bag. So for me a pouch or cube would work but i want it absolutely no bigger than a q3 with the square hood attached. I'm currently using a little makeshift cube i made by combining a bunch of camera insert dividers into a cube with no top. It's ok but kinda janky. I have a neoprene cover but don't like having to take it in and out every time. I didn't need maximum protection but a little would be nice. Perhaps a thick drawstring pouch? Or a drop in cube? Any ideas with those specifics?
Stephen_C Posted August 3 Share #48 Posted August 3 I have used this for both a Q2 and, now, a Q3 (both with hood attached) and, for me, it's absolutely perfect. Stephen

F-train Posted August 3 Share #51 Posted August 3 https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00009R9BP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Fits a Q43 like a glove. And if you want to go for style, the Leica Ettas.

And if you want to go for style, the Leica Ettas. I have one of those and it's great I'm just looking for something a bit faster to drop into. I find i have to slide the lens in the neoprene case and then work both edges in and then close it. I was hoping for something that can more sit inside my messenger bag and allow me instant access by dropping the camera right into it. Closure is a bonus. F-train Posted August 3 Share #53 Posted August 3 Then a Leica Ettas. That’s like a modern eveready case, but without the screw and magnetic closure. Easy in and out, and only slightly bigger than the camera.

howiebrou Posted August 5 Share #55 Posted August 5 If you want a pouch within a bag, this one is really good and only US$12. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006924765114.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.409.1a931802ib1hNX Welcome, dear visitor! I haven't used a dedicated camera bag since, Best decision ever.
riffola Posted August 12 Share #58 Posted August 12 I can fit my Q2 or Q3 43 with the Leica Ettas inside an Aer Daily Sling 3 with very little room to spare. My sunglasses have to fit inside at an angle.
RBNvRBN photo Posted August 12 Share #59 Posted August 12 I'm also considering getting a padded pouch or camera insert to fit inside a slightly larger sling or a compact messenger bag. Ideally, I want something that doesn’t scream “camera bag”—I really like the look of Freitag messenger bags, though that’s obviously a personal preference. I might pick up another messenger bag, but am looking for a small insert or pouch that offers good protection. The pouch needs to accommodate the Q3 (or possibly the Q3 43, if I decide to switch 🤔) and offer solid protection. I currently use a Billingham 72, which is beautifully padded and very protective—but it’s unmistakably a camera bag. I’ve also been eyeing the Wotancraft Pilot series. They look great, but again, they lean heavily into the camera bag aesthetic. I’m curious about the padding quality in the Artisan & Artist pouches. Do they offer enough protection? Or should I get an insert like this? And the options on AliExpress too—any thoughts on those in terms of build and padding

I've used one for years and never had a problem. 4 minutes ago, RBNvRBN photo said: Or should I get an insert like this? If you're referring to combining that with the A & A pouch (you're probably not, so just for clarification) it's not going to fit. Stephen
