wolan Posted June 1, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 1, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just found an interesting offer for the Leica summilux-M 35mm f1.4 II. II means this is the FLE version right? Is there a way to visually recognise it and distinguish it from the previous version? Thank you
Advertisement Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Hi wolan, Take a look here How to recognise the 35mm f1.4 FLE lens?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted June 1, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 1, 2021 (edited) Looks like this if it is the FLE. It is the only one with metal screw-in hood. But the Summilux-M 35/1.4 v2 is another lens from the eighties. Smaller, lighter, softer too. Welcome, dear visitor! FrozenInTime Posted June 1, 2021 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2021 Caution : there are many 35mm Summilux versions - there is a summary half way down the page https://www.overgaard.dk/leica-35mm-Summilux-M-ASPH-f-14.html If it’s a modern ASPH one, FLE look for a thread on metal hood rather than the pre-FLE clip on plastic hood or 12466 petal hood with a plain ring on the outside of the lens barrel.

Comparing to the lesser Apo-Summicron-M 35mm (for more infos, this review ) the Summilux-M FLE or not are really cheap ( for what it is ! ). 01af Posted June 3, 2021 Share #13 Posted June 3, 2021 Look at the focus distance scale of the 35 Summilux-M. If the highest value just short of infinity (in meters) is 7 m then it's the FLE version. If it's 10 m then it's the Asph non-FLE or the Aspherical.
