I stopped by the shop doing my Lancia Fulvia Coupe interior restoration today. Not much new to report on the Fulvia, it's all coming along apace, but they had this lovely little machine from 1954 to do a little freshening up out on the floor today...

1954 Siata Balba Coupé - Santa Clara 2022
Leica CL + Color Skopar 28mm f/3.5
ISO 1600 @ f/5.6 @ 1/60

Such a beautiful little car, with a very pretty FIAT-sourced 2L V8! A rarity ... They made 9 cars in this particular coupé series.

enjoy!

American Coot

CL + (rented) Summicron-M 35mm.  I don't often shoot in color but wanted to try out the DNG file.  Love that lens!

Back in the days when I was shooting with the Pentax DSLRs in APS-C format, the Pentax-DA 21mm f/3.2 was one of my most useful lenses, so I've been looking for a nice, compact 17 to 21 mm lens for the Leica CL. I tried a TT Artisans 17mm f/1.4 in L-mount, but it just didn't impress me at all ... I sent it back. Once upon a time, I had the Voigtländer Color-Skopar 21mm f/4 but I sold it when it simply had too many issues on the digital sensor for my taste.

But Voigtländer has recomputed the Color-Skopar 21mm and theoretically tuned it better for the digital sensor cameras. And I'm working with APS-C now, not FF. So I decided to give it a try ...

I like the V1 focusing mount, it's very similar to my LTM Color-Skopar 28mm f/3.5. The new styling is a little glitzy but classic looking.

I took it with me yesterday on my morning bicycle ride and breakfast gathering...

Leica CL + Color-Skopar 21mm f/3.5 v1

21mm really hits a sweet spot for me on this format. :)

Now, group shots in a cafe aren't what I normally do photographically, so I took the lens out on my afternoon walk as a more formal test... Here's an album with 17 of the photos I thought were 'in my zone'...

Color-Skopar 21mm f/3.5 Test

I'm happy with that! :D

I really like the Voigtlander 25mm f4 Snapshot-Skopar on the CL. Like the 21mm, it's very compact and close to my preferred 35mm equivalent. If you are not familiar with the lens it has light detents on the focus ring at 3m 1.5m and 1m which make street photography very easy. I used it a lot on my M8 and now on the CL. I have the Leica kit zoom lens but it just makes the CL a bit too big and heavy for my taste. Might as well use a full frame camera. I do sometime post pictures in the CL image thread taken with this lens,

Really liking this lens. It, the Color-Skopar 28mm f/3.5, the 1972 Summilux 35mm f/1.4, and Pentax-L 43mm f/1.9 Special are just the right size for this camera.

How did you manage this? Mine refuses to enter panorama mode without a TL lens.

TL2 + Voigtländer 28/2, ISO3200. Pretty happy with the low light performance but still need to take 5-6 shots to get 1 sharp. Also, Affinity Photo still sucks at handling blowouts.
