Considering a visoflex for my M10. I have heard the visoflex has low frame rate and lags.

Is its performance the same or worse than live view using the rear LCD screen? Which for me is not great but if visoflex is the same would be tolerable.

Can't answer as impossible to view both at once.

We all know the Visoflex dosn't compare well with the best EVF experience, but I find it very useful for mostly static subjects.

Pedaes, thanks for your response. So am I right to assume you can’t tell a noticeable difference in live view performance from the Visoflex compared to rear LCD?

Not 100% sure as, as I said, you cannot use Visoflex and rear screen together. Logic would say they are the same, but I don't know for sure.

It seems to me that the Visoflex 020 has a lower refresh rate than the LCD of M10R (I did a test moving left and right and the movement in the rear LCD looks smoother). I have not noticed increased lag when compared to LCD.
P.S.: While I do not use it all the time, I like Visoflex 020 for more static subjects.

I find the Visoflex useful for my 21 Elmarit and somewhat for the macro-elmar 90.  But it's not a great piece of equipment. For what it's worth, Leica Miami has a (or just had) a used one. I'm not sure they are worth the full price.

Thanks everyone, I just realised a new Leica store has opened up 10 minutes from my home so I will pop in and try for myself!

A new store in the UK!

Is it a Leica boutique selling Leica only, or just an independent dealer.   We have less stores now than ever.

Tell us where?

It’s another one in London, in Harrods of course, so you can purchase a Hermes handbag at the same time 😂

The lag is about the same. The shutter has to open and send the video signal, this has to happen every time you take a shoot,

I find the evf easier to see and focus then the back screen, just the reflection makes it hard.

You also gain GPS

I often still focus rangefinder and the look at cropping on evf when I use wide angle lenses

This is great news, and terrible news! I found a store very near me as well - O go so often now they should be charging me rent 🙂
