Thanks for the very nice pictures and blog, you have captured the atmosphere really well.

Driving all the way from Helsinki to the Polar Circle is the boring part, so a good alternative is to use the over-night car-sleeper train service from Helsinki to Rovaniemi or Kolari.

Thanks, initially we thought of taking a flight to Ivalo then drive to North Cape. But since we are really curious about rural areas and the remote landscape in winter, we decided to drive instead. However, you are right, it's actually also a bit dangerous because we often found ourselves in the middle of nowhere and if our car broke down then we are in real trouble.
