Le Chef Posted April 28, 2021 Share #1 Â Posted April 28, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) It appears that the Q2 has a firmware update that eliminates the issue the wandering focal spot on the rear screen. Can we expect the same for the CL sometime soon?

AdHox Posted April 28, 2021 Share #2  Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) 🤞 I don’t often get caught out by the wandering point. But somehow it only happens when it’s most inconvenient. Edited April 28, 2021 by AdHox

Could you explain how you managed to switch touchscreen off. Just curious as that feature is painful to me.

It was driving me mad as well, until I switched it off as follows: Main Menu > Page 1> Focusing > Touch AF set to Off. 2

Le Chef Posted May 3, 2021 Author Share #8  Posted May 3, 2021 Even with the touch screen off you can still inadvertently move the focus point by nudging the 4-way controller by mistake.

Long press the button inside the left thumbwheel until the "closed lock" icon appears on the screen.  Toshi Edited May 7, 2021 by TMorita
jaapv Posted May 7, 2021 Share #10  Posted May 7, 2021 Locking all controls makes the camera completely passive. That is hardly a solution.
Le Chef Posted May 7, 2021 Author Share #11  Posted May 7, 2021 As we’ve discussed many times here before, make the default for the focus point “locked” with the option available in the menu or shortcut to make it mobile. Leica have had 4 years to fix this, but clearly it’s not important enough for them to bother with. 2
