You seem to have missed the point: most of them could be repaired, but an R lens not as there are no spare parts available at all.

Would you want to repair a lens that just hit the concrete or a hard surface ,of course it depends how it landed, certainly not me.

Going back to Topic, I have always loved my R lenses and was totally shuttered when the R system was discontinued and all spare parts where disposed off.

Simply a reckless and irresponsible act by the new owners.

I was not impressed with the SL2s when I tried my 28-90mm on it,  I didn't think the images were that great,  personally I feel there are better and cheaper alternatives for R lenses out there.

Well - it happened to my Summilux 24 M when it was only a few weeks old - Leica repaired it under courtesy. - it may have helped that it happened during a Leica event ;) . I would have not liked to throw thousands in the bin...

So to be completly transparent, how likely do you think i would come in the situation in needing a service. I mean i used an older, and cheaper Canon lens, and it still holds up till today, and i wouldn't say, that i use my gear with white gloves

Mold and fungus are commonly found  in older lenses. The old lenses don’t have the coatings that digital lenses have today. Also here has been great technological advances in how new lenses are made, how the glass elements are polished. I would research the newer lenses that you are interested in. Look at pictures taken with them and then decide. I have a couple of r lenses and they are soft by today’s standards.

Yes, been there done that. Apo-Summicron-M 75, thrown onto the cobbles outside Parma Cathedral - focus jammed (and possibly other damage). Repaired like new by Leica for much less than the cost of a new lens.
