Some sample photos that are all from this lens.

They look good to me, although some will still complain about the quality of the bokeh balls, as they have with the M APO 35mm.   I’m tempted but you could get three GFX lenses for the price of this one ...

I'm using both. The 28 Apo is as phenomenal as the 35 is. Regarding IQ I see no difference (even though the 35 MTF's are slightly superior). For me the 28 Apo is on a par with my 90 Apo - and that says quite a lot...

And with a MFD of 0.24m!

Some more. with the 28 SL  These didn't fit in with the other set:

But they have nice edge-to-wedge detail.

Thank you for nice samples. As mentioned before I'm still not convinced about distortion...

Pointing a 28 up makes vertical lines converge, which is perspective but not distortion.  The SL 28, unlike its 35 mm brother does have some barrel distortion left in to be corrected in post processing, as has been done in this picture, leaving the lines nice and straight. If you're out in the woods and straight lines are unimportant, the corrections can be turned off and faces or hands in the corners of a scene will look more natural.  If you use C1 for post processing, you can even correct the barrel distortion and then increase the image size to get more pixels than you started with from the corrected scene.

An example of a fine lens that is only optically corrected is the new M APO 35/2.0.  It has its greatest barrel distortion at a radius that corresponds to the center of the long edges of the frame, but this decreases to zero at the corners.  This kind of varying distortion leads to a "Moustache" effect, making lines which don't just bend, but waver.  Fortunately, the effect is pretty small.

Thank you Scott for this explanation/opinion.

I own M Summicron 28 and never experienced such pronounced effect. Was thinking of Summicron 28 SL for my SL 601 but based on photos posted online I'm more and more leaning towards SL 35 + SL 90.

I will patiently wait for more SL prime lenses photo examples and than I will pull the trigger. 24-90 is still in my focus... Don't need to rush with my (final😅) decision.
