If someone tells me how to work on the RAW file in LR or PS I'd appreciate it.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't work.  The instruction is to set your Raw Defaults in LR or ACR to Camera Settings and then import.  The correction is then supposed to show up and in the LR Transform menu there is supposed to be a choice under Upright to choose Auxiliary Lines.  This choice is also supposed to appear, presumably in the Geometry module .in ACR.  Thes choices don't appear for me, using current version Photoshop CC and Lightroom Classic on a Mac, OS 10.15.7.

I shot a RAW image on my M10-R, and when opening the photoshop raw editor, when changing the raw defaults to camera I noted that it imported the image with perspective correction and appropriate crop.  This was run on my Mac Photoshop 21.2.3

Which camera are you using? It does not seem to work on M10-Monochrom, but it works well on M10-R.

When importing, it automatically applies the correction (which can be turned off if desired).

Thanks John.  Did it allow you to turn the correction off?  Oh, I see now it may be camera related... I’m using an M10M

As Scott already noticed in another post, in fact the perspective correction feature embeds data from the digital level sensor in EVERY picture, also when the feature is set to off and/or when the picture is NOT taken in live view mode. In fact, data for 4 guides is ALWAYS embedded in the .dng file.

Only when the feature is on and the picture is taken in live view mode, the embedded thumbnail in the .dng shows the modified view. When such a picture is imported in Lightroom, and Lightroom is set to “master: camera settings” in the Presets tab, the “guided” button is automatically selected in the “Transform” pane.

For all other pictures (feature set to off or NOT taken in live view) the thumbnail is the unmodified full frame, and the “guided” button is NOT selected and has to be pressed to show the effect of the 4 embedded guides.

If you want to put the “guides” feature under your own control you ALWAYS will have to delete and/or modify the already embedded guides.

For me, when opening a RAW file in Photoshop, I click at the bottom center, then modify the 'raw defaults' submenu to 'camera settings', as shown in the two images below...This has worked on my Mac + D10R.  There may be easier ways to do this (if there are, would please share), but have only tested briefly so far...

Al,

Thanks for the link to the tutorial with closed captions. I now see how easy it is to accomplish the correction in the Transform panel. I use this panel regularly, but never noticed the "GUIDED" option.

Clicking from "AUTO" to "GUIDED" clearly shows the impact of this addition.

I just updated my M10. Everything was easy and fine. Now what? 🤣 I'm right when I say that there is NOT any correction perspective control on M10? I saw the video but I can't find the features to enable. Is because it's only working for M10-P-R-M?

Thank you

The perspective control only works with M10P, R and M. The firmware update for M10 only adds new lenses to the 6bit menu.

Think I will forgo this firmware upgrade option – anyone else?

On Monday I'll shoot with my M10. I will dedicate a time to understand if there are some improvements, speed, how responsive the camera is. Maybe...
