I haven't been able to find anything on the M10-P having acceleration sensors. I thought that acceleration sensors are used for IBIS. I've seen posts — don't recall where — that the M10-P and the M10 have the same sensors.

Maybe integrated digital level gauge is the better wording for it. Leica can provide you with an upgrade for this and the touchscreen, and additionally for the silent M10-P shutter.

^ There is now a firmware upgrade (v2.20.48.38) on the Leica site, dated 28-Jan-2021, but (currently) without a description of what this upgrade contains.

That problem has been fixed, just download the file once again (now it's a much larger file) and go through the installation process. Takes quite an amount of time to actually start the installation process in the camera, don't be confused, do not turn the camera off...

I can confirm a larger file found at https://us.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-M/Leica-M10-P/Downloads works on my M10-P now.

Thanks. Works now.

I don't think that its actually a very useful feature, and its definitely not an M philosophy feature IMO. its more the kind of tricks you'd find on an SL series, or a Sony camera.

I can see how its useful for the architectural photographers that bought the R, but again, they should know how to take a photo of building without this, or they might not have bought the right system.

Anyway, doesnt hurt if its there !

I found that feature very useful, another example where Adobe and Leica work closely together to benefit Leica users.
Perspective control is useful for many outdoor and indoor situations. While it can be done in post, manually, having a suggested starting point is very helpful. Also, seeing the perspective corrected crop in the EVF is helpful when framing.
I wish SL2/SL2-S would have it as well.

The upgrade fixed a shutter anomaly I had on continuous drive (low) on my M10 - where the shutter seemed to delay between the 3 and 4th, 7th and 8th shot etc.  Fixed with this upgrade.

Oh fantastic - that's exactly the problem I described in a thread a while back. I reported it to Leica and I have been waiting for a firmware update for my now 'antique' M10. Thank you for the confirmation. I might go and install now :)

Unfortunately the lagging shutter when in continuous mode is still present for me. Fun fact, it lags more when auto review is off.

Just to verify - I too own one of the "antique" models without any letters after the M10.  Is there an reason why I should update?

I understand the M10 doesn't have the hardware to take advantage of this new feature, but the new feature doesn't "fit" my view of what the Leica M is made for anyway.  I enjoy the relative simplicity of the menu system.

Reading about all the issues, if there is a valid reason to update, I'll wait a few weeks anyway.

I now have four Leica M cameras, M2, M3, M8.2, and M10.  I don't anticipate getting another.

I was mistaken - on trying again today the "hunting" in continuous low drive mode returned.  Sorry for the false hope Dunos!

It's not an antique, it's an "original M10."  And I would suggest updating, simply because there are sometimes hidden bugs that got silently fixed.  Things that can cause a freeze when you do something unlikely.

The idea of going through the cumbersome procedure needed anytime a firmware update is done to keep the sequential file numbering makes me puzzled, specially if no relevant or significant improvement is in sight for my "vintage" M10
