The provided metal lens cap works with the b+w t-pro line slim protection filter, it's just a tiny bit loose because of the added thickness. I never use the hood though, it's too big. I mainly use the lens on SL2-S, the manual focus peaking makes the usage of this lens like a dream. Focus is breeze and the accuracy at f/1.2 is much higher than on M rangefinder. The lens vignettes at f/1.2 and 1.4 anyway without filter Keep in mind that t-pro is platinum style, it’s greyish silver color, you may not like the color paired with the lens unless you are super rich with a silver chrome version lens. I love shooting film with it at night. The 75 Noctilux, that's a different story. The viewfinder blockage alone makes it kind of useless without an EVF. Love it on my SL3 though. I don't find myself using the f1.2 very often anymore. For "dreamy," I prefer the f1, which is sharper, a bit more refined, and less one-note to me. I use the f1.2 most often when I go to a concert and want to bring a camera and lens setup with a fast aperture that doesn't look so "professional" it'll get me stopped at security. Otherwise, the f1.2 is kind of a hard sell. I loved it when I first acquired it, but it makes your shots all look sort of the same, and that's a bit boring. But I haven't shot it in a while. Maybe I'll take it out this weekend and see if I feel any differently about it. Hello Mr Bunting, So ? How was your weekend’s f1.2 journey love/hate affair ? I understand that the typical rendering of the f1.2 may sign a bit too much its pictures an can become boring. I am still full of admiration that the images it gives me however, I hope my love affair will last forever. But maybe it is because I quite never use it wide open to earn contrast, that reduces a bit its personality wich however remains. I am quite surprised that you qualifies the f1 sharper than the f1.2 : I don’t own the former, but all the images I gather from it seem blur, even at small apetures whereas I find my f1.2 and other’s are sharp even wide open in the center. May you encounter some calibration or decentering issue ? Moreover to me the colors rendering of the f1.2 is nothing but a purity reference (better than the summilux asph which warms the scenes) while the f1 seems always muted and lacks subtlity. I took it out but didn't really manage to get anything interesting--not the lens' fault there; I just didn't stumble on anything super photo-worthy. I have to disagree about the f1. I find it just sharp enough wide open to be versatile--and I find the sharpness isn't limited to the center of the frame like the f1.2 (which I still enjoy! but which is a sometimes-lens for me, and not something I'd daily carry). Not sure I agree that the colors are muted either--though the lens does benefit from a contrast boost in Lightroom. The below are all shot with the f1, on film, and wide open or close to (all under f1.8). Welcome, dear visitor!
