Advertisement Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Hi Nash, Take a look here USB charging. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Daniel C.1975 Posted January 27, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2021 Nope, you have to use the USB-C port (lowest one, below the HDMI - it's behind a separate rubber flap). Works fine. Cheers Daniel
Eclectic Man Posted January 27, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2021 The connections on the left of the SL2 are not described in the SL2 manual, but, as Daniel C.1975 states, the USB C connector is the one on the left under its own separate flap. I have pointed the omission out to Leica (the manual for the SL2 remote release also refers to stuff not in the SL2 manual), but not heard back from them.. bherman01545 Posted January 28, 2021 Share #5 Posted January 28, 2021 Granted, there are certain situations where you need to charge in camera via USB-C connected to an AC wall adapter or via a DC power bank, but with that said, based on everything that I've read, the 'best practice' for charging batteries on any camera is to charge them externally, whenever possible - eliminating charging a battery across the main circuit board of the camera. -Brad
SrMi Posted January 28, 2021 Share #6 Posted January 28, 2021 I see USB charging as a backup when traveling in case my charger breaks or gets lost. 1
