Actually yesterday Leica CC returned my M10-P Reporter – with a brand new M10 body standard covering. I decided to get rid of the Kevlar trim covering for two reasons:

1. it came loose on some edges and felt almost uncomfortable when used in hot surroundings

2. as intended by Leica UV light had its effect on the Kevlar trim, but to me it just looked ugly because the wear was irregular.

Of course the Reporter lost value due to this manipulation, but I use my Reporter quite frequently next to my M11 and M10-M. And if I want Leica CC offered to cover my Reporter with its original Kevlar trim...

I was beginning to lean in this direction as mine began to wear as well but still love the green paint and black dials. Pics please!

That’s interesting.  Mines at a sweet spot right now of being worn and comfy , that’s why I posted . But I can appreciate what you are saying.  I’d always wondered what these cameras look like with a standard cover also

o.k., sorry it took so long, but as a sports photographer the week-ends are busy...

Hope you get an impression of the standard cover. To me it doesn't look as nice a the Kevlar trim brand new, but really I prefer the feel of the standard cover the more I use it.

Thanks for sharing.  Looks nice. Whether like this or in Kevlar , The Reporter really is one of the best looking editions IMO.

Thanks for sharing! It's perfect timing for me to find this post. I have black (and green) options for leather replacement coming for mine right now. I'm going to do it myself as I don't want the Leica NJ turnaround time. But this looks good. I've decided to go for it for the same reason as you, I've just grown tired of the Kevlar and it's getting a little ratty near the edged.
