I must admit that since acquiring it several years ago, I do not much go to my Noctilux 50mm f/.95. My biggest disappointment is that while I really want to use it for portraiture, the minimum focusing distance is so far that I am unable to fill the screen with my subject. Instead, I must back away significantly and then crop. So, before I consider selling the beast, I thought that maybe forum members could post their favorite .95 images to persuade me otherwise.

I'll start with a photo from the .95 that I am happy with.

Happy New Year!

This lens is not "perfect" but suitable for delicate situations in film day,

like here  (not sharp but very pleasing pic, for me ) delicate hues not show in this digital reproduction of Kodachrome ( or from my lack of mastering digital tools )

Deservedly so, Rob!

Thank you, Gordon.  (Despite using my noctilux so infrequently, the images always have a captivating look).  Regards, Rob

Get yourself a Summilux 75 than your frame is filled (at the same distance) and you get Noctilux 1.0 magic. No kidding.

Besides from that…

Noctilux 1.0

+1

Summilux 75mm focuses closer than any of 50mm Noctilux lenses, it can add a lot if subject isolation is the the desired effect.
