Gary, I actually very much like the effect of the light and the angle you chose. You are also getting a very nice IQ with your Canon 50 mm.

Not a great deal I could do, the light was very low, and there was no way I was getting in there with them, heck, they're bigger than me.

Yes, the Canon is great on the T. Yep, I'd love a Summilux, but this is with me, and it works. If you find one, try it. It might be slightly more user friendly than your Nikkor perhaps?

Wow, Robert; you got such a clarity and superb colors in this shot!... This 55-135 seems to be a very good lens! How is the focusing speed?... I am thinking to get a 18-65 because of its size for street shooting (AF), and travel!

Depends on what you want to photograph. I have all three T zoom lenses and they all are very fine Leica lenses. With the latest firmware the AF speed is just fine. Of the three lenses, I have a feeling the 11-23 and 18-56 will get the most use, considering my classic car photography and travel and events. When in the mountains I would like the 55-135.

Thanks, Louis. Since a focus range limiting mode was introduced in a firmware update, the focusing speed of the 55-135 is very much improved. Stephen's right. AF speed is just fine now.

Like you, I started off using converted lenses but inevitably, if you have an AF camera, you want an AF lens for it. But beware, these lenses are really good. Once you get one, you'll want another.

Too bad they are not fast!... I have been hesitating till now because of my excellent Nikkor 17-55 mm lens which is f/2.5, very sharp with a beautiful shallow DOF, that I am using manually. But it is huge comparing to Leica 18-56 and not very practical for street and travel. For me, AF is very important for street where I have to shoot fast!... Otherwise, I am quite happy, so far, with my old manual lenses and I got quite used to manual focusing with the excellent Visoflex... I only wish there was an exposure area in the frame that would work with my manual lenses. Not having that makes it really hard to find the right exposure!

Yes, I too lament the lack of speed of the T lenses. Everyone moaned about the X Vario lens speed, but nary a squeak about the T 18-56. This is the reason I use the Canon, at f1.4, or close it has a wonderful "glow" and lack of DoF, as expected.

I can live with manual focusing, but find the lack (obviously, so no real surprise) of auto-diaphragm a nuisance. I tend to stop down at least one or two stops.

Jd,

in awe as usual of your shots.

Could you do me a favour please, note what lens used, I alternate between the T zoom, and a few of my M lenses. I know you have a selection as well, it'd  be nice to know what was used.

I agree I like the 18-56 zoom, it takes pleasant images. The same goes for the 55-135 and the 11-23. All three are really good lenses. I am enjoying using them with the T.

It is AF for me and also weight. Those three lenses and the T are not heavy like a Sony A7 and lenses or a DSLR and lenses, of course the T is not full-frame, but you know what the results from the T are excellent. I am more than happy with the T and becoming a Lightroom fan too.

Continuing on the 55-135 lens, I really am respecting this glass more and more. Snowing slightly today....... through a window...... L1000004 ISO 800, F5.6, 1/640 sec at 135mm, 8 at 118mm, 1/500 sec
