And finally the Samyang 800mm image  … do-nuts are evident but not too intrusive.

What sort of adapters and easy or not to focus? The image looks very good.

Had hoped to post 5 consecutive images without comments in between!! … Which is why each post states 'continued … " !!

But never mind ...

The Samyang 800mm has a universal T-mount fitting (not to be confused with Leica T mount) … thus needs a T adaptor … so was fitted with a Leica R 'T'-mount adaptor and thence a Novoflex R to M adaptor … plus the regular Leica M to T adaptor.

The 800mm Samyang is a real pig of a lens to focus - party because it needs a very stable tripod and party because it has a very coarse focusing helicoil i.e. it's not fine enough to achieve accurate fine focus every time . Thus plan to modify the lens by adding a lever to the focusing grip - which in theory will permit longer focus travel.

Best wishes

A rain shot.  Taken with the T with the Apo Macro Elmarit R 100mm stacked with M to T and then an R to M converter.  I don't recommend this because this is a huge lens for this camera, but it works!

really lovely color shots! what kind of post processing do you do?

Thanks, I process in Capture One Pro 8, monthly subscription, on the camera I dial in for all my images EC -1/3

In Capture One : in the dynamic section, I dial the highlight slider totally back (brings out the sky) and the shadow slider at 35,

Clarity at 20 and structure at 20 , sometimes some cropping , generally don"t touch color , only for indoor shots , most of my corrections deal with controlling the light.

I'm envious as well, the 11-23 was high on the must have list. The 18-56 won due cost, size, and the fact I got offered a new one at a decent price. Still one day I might bite the bullet.

Keep 'em coming Peter.

Gary

Hi Gary, I just recently acquired the 11-23, here in Canada, (perhaps elsewhere also ) there is is 12.5% discount on certain Leica equipment.

I looked at this lens before and found it expensive for my budget (I am well over my budget now ) I am glad I got this lens, it is really good,

I am very happy with it , in spite of the cost.
