Happened across an unusually confiding Spotted Dove . . .

TL2 with 55-135mm @ 135mm . . . my copy must be stopped down to f/5.6 to be sharp past 100mm.  This lens seems slower than its un-fast variable aperture, and the lack of inertia at the end of the barrel necessitates a fairly fast shutter speed to get crisp edges at the long end.  From 55-100 it is a pleasure to shoot; but more often when I head out the door, it's with the 90 or 180 (or both) in the bag.

TL2 with 35mm TL in dim residual light . . . a total joy to shoot, and I'm generally not a "normal lens" shooter . .

Charleston

I find much character, charm, warmth and colors in the southern part of the US. Charleston in South Carolina is one the most historical and beautiful port cities of the “South”, founded in 1670.

These are just a few samples of the beautiful and typical architecture of this region for friends who are not familiar with the “South”. Many fortunate families are living in these beautiful houses.

The sun was very bright during my visit, creating deep and heavy shades. Processing of my raw files became very slow and painful on an old laptop, with old versions of LR and PS that I had at my disposal. I hope they still look ok on a “normal” computer.

All with Leica T and Vario Elmar- T 18-56 that I believe did a decent job.

Wow, I want the address. ;)

I really like this lens. I have been hesitating between this one and 55-135 that also has an excellent sharpness and rendering. But if l can find a good price, I think I may get this one and keep it on CL most of the time.

Louis, I have so far only seen excellently rendered images and heard only praise of this TL AF 35/1.4 - I envision that pronto a female Sta. Claus in appropriate outfit will show up and offer you this pre-christmas gift to welcome your arrival to the southern community - a gift you surely can not refuse.  ;)  The ordered sexy CL will make it in time, no worries. As to the Various AF zoom 55-135 it's aperture restrictions may make one hesitate - d'accord, however you will now also live and move more in areas of different light as up in the East Coast, maybe helps (a bit...). Enjoy the humidity, warmth and latin flavor.

Good advice, Thank you. I had my friend shot @ 132mm and "only" opened 4.5, probably order have sufficient shutter speed. I will take this into consideration and change settings accordingly.  :) Best, Guenter

I just realized "Grohde" is my good friend Guenter! ;)

Funny we shot almost the sane boat, but mine is flying! lol

...in opposite directions, haha. Changing course and topping motivation with a barrel of aged Tequila, mine could reach yours in a heartbeat?? Yes, me again, Cheerio.  :)

A beautiful set Louis!  Thank you.  I do like the architecture in the American South :-)
