With a new TL2 in-house, a quick test to check the main reason for the purchase; using it as an extender for the SL...

In addition, the TL2s high-ISO properties is very good. In a (non-scientific) test I run, the TL2 is comparable to or slightly better than Nikon D500 up to ISO 12500 (and not that different at ISO 25000). Quite an achievement.

But, I really miss a button in addition to the two wheels. With manual lenses, the right wheel controls the shutter speed. Fine. The left wheel can, of course, be set to focus enlargement. But in this case you miss instant control of exposure, so you have to rely on auto-ISO, possibly adjusted by exposure compensation. This can be fine, but I don't like to blindly rely on the camera when it comes to exposure. If you put exposure correction to the left wheel, you can nail the exposure, but you miss instant access to focus enlargement.

My preferred option, for manual lenses, would be exposure compensation on the left wheel, shutter speed on the right wheel, and a press button somewhere on the body, for instance in the front that could activate focus enlargement (a front button is available on the SL, and something similar would be nice on the TL2).

Please chime in if I have missed something regarding the use of the TL2 with manual lens(es)! I am, as stated, a novice in the TL2-land...
