Little Egret wading in shallows, River Welland near Stamford Lincs. UK

Leica T with Novoflex 600mm f8 Noflexar and Leica 2x APO extender R … FF equivalent 1800mm f16 . Lens and camera supported by two tripods on a very windy day.  Lens was a bargain £69 'lens head only' purchase … maybe NOS as mint lens head was in a new looking Novoflex box. Subsequently fitted to existing Novoflex lens mount; T camera fitted with Leica Viso T.

Best wishes

Ah, results! I am impressed with the sharpness and colors you managed to get with this long reach. A pity, That the red outline around the egret is disturbingly present. There is also a red cast in the white. do you know causes it to appear?

But, certainly a shot to be proud of. Regards, Erik

I am totally colour blind so cannot always see the 'reds' … but now I look a bit closer and more intently I can see it :(  . Thanks.  It's a frequent problem and can usually adjust once I'm aware. So will PP it again and hopefully obtain a better result.

In this case you can see right away that something is amiss if you separate the image into its three color channels (RGB). The G and B components are tack shap and the R channel seems to have doubled contours.

Edit: The stalks or twigs behind the bird are sharper in the red channel than in the two others. This seems to be a drastic case of CA.
