I’m considering this lens also, pairing high MP cameras with less modern optics, R lenses especially can be beautiful as your images show.  Can you tell me your thoughts on the lens?  Thanks.

Daryl, I have only had the lens two days so far too soon for me to have got to know it's strengths or weaknesses, but as someone who does miss the flexibility of a zoom when I'm out with just my rangefinder I decided to see how it would go.  I'm not a fan of the visoflex, mine has sat in the cupboard untouched for over a year now, but of course it's a necessary evil to use the lens unless you rely on the lcd.  I would say so far I can see care needs to be taken when sun is in the frame, flare can be an issue but it certainly seems to be sharp enough, and I seem to be having more trouble getting colours/white balance right than I usually do, all probably down to not understanding the lens yet.  I did have a Leica X Vario some years ago, and for sure this lens is not as good as the one on that camera, which is maybe what I was hoping for, but early days.  Of course I should remember the 16mps so not so demanding

I became the happy owner of a 24mm f2.8 Elmarit ASPH this afternoon. Snapped this at sunset at one of my favorite views on the cycle ride back home. Looks promising. I hadn't planned a purchase, but it was quite reasonably-priced, so I went for it. Looked at some reviews and the over-riding impression was that it's one of Leica's sharpest. First impressions seem to confirm that.

Thanks, the image attached of the shadowed walls shows me that the lens can tame contrast, difficult in bright sunshine.  Did you do HDR or raise the shadows to get this?

It doesn't matter which lens you use...

You make "sing" every lens you choose with your precise composition and very crisp post processing. Great, as always.
