Not impossible. One of mine has a blank warranty card and could have been stolen that way. Just a grey market as expected but it helped me to get a price i could not refuse then. Nothing illegal of course but i don't trumpet the fact. Oops just did it :eek:.

I don't buy often on eBay but knowing the item comes with the original packaging and paperwork reduces the risk the item was stolen. But more importantly, IMHO, having that packaging also indicates the seller knows that the packaging can help the resale value.  If future resale was on the seller's mind, they might be less likely to abuse the item.

Leica seems more like a world market. The UK main dealers sell all over the world - do these items become 'grey' because they were not supplied through the purchasers local importer?

Yes or outside of the brand owner's approved distribution channels if this defines the grey market.

why are you keep (non stop) saying stolen and grey market?  are you living in dark ages or you suggest most people here are thief and dodgy?
