I had one of these in the 1990s but can not find any mention of them, as if they have vanished.

I used it for a while in place of a 50mm Summi.

Anyone else remember them?

I would like to have one but can't find one anywhere.

Sorry,  but there never was such a lens for the M system. Maybe you are thinking of one of the following two lenses:

  • Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f/2.8 for the SLR system
  • Elmar 65mm f/3.5 for the Visoflex system

There is also a Macro-Elmar-M 90mm f/4 but that was not yet around in the 1990s (and it has a longer focal length).

But as far as I know, the Konica Hexar lenses used the M-mount, but had a small, but signifcant, different focus ramp at the bajonett? I remember that they had to be modified for best performance? At least that was what a former Konica employee told me...?

I recall an article from Mike Johnson where he debunked the theory of the Hexanons having a slightly different helicoid pitch to Leica's.  It was apparently a marketing ploy by Konica to persuade customers to buy Hexanon lenses because they would - supposedly - work better on their Hexar RF cameras.

I've used a few M-Hexanons including the 50/1.2 and I never experienced this problem so I'm inclined to think that Mike was right.

Pete.

I have only one (50/2) but it requires some calibration indeed. Will van Manen does it in the Netherlands if memory serves.
