lazar_jr Posted May 6, 2020 Share #1  Posted May 6, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello,Recently I aquired summicron 35 asph. Pretty fast I realized that it has two weird looking objects inside. In strong side light it turns white, under loupe (7x) its dark and pretty straight. Seems both of the objects have around 2mm lenght and they are very thin.First thought was these are inside scrathes cause they "blink" in side strong light. But after short inspection I assumed that they might be kind of dust/hair.What do you think? Should I be bothered with them and take the lens to cleaning or just keep on shooting?I shoot only film so is there any way to check if they interfere with the image? LIke shooting a plain color wall, or shoot against strong light to see if it makes a blink on an image? any suggestions? Thanks! Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted May 6, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted May 6, 2020 Whatever it is (I think hairs), it will have absolutely no impact on image quality.
earleygallery Posted May 6, 2020 Share #3  Posted May 6, 2020 Agree with Jaap, although if you bought the lens new I would return it for another one. If you bought it used then just ignore it.
spydrxx Posted May 6, 2020 Share #4 Â Posted May 6, 2020 Irrelevant, but I agree if bought new, I'd return it for another copy.

250swb Posted May 7, 2020 Share #6 Â Posted May 7, 2020 Same as the others, they will never ever have any impact at all on image quality, but yes if new take it back.
BradS Posted May 7, 2020 Share #7  Posted May 7, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) As others have already said, those microscopic imperfections will have absolutely no effect on the photographic results. and yeah, if it bothers you, return the lens...but do not expect that the next lens is going to be any better. Photography is not and never has been about perfection. onasj Posted May 8, 2020 Share #8 Â Posted May 8, 2020 0 effect on image quality but 0-100 effect on psychology. Â Which is important, as photography should be pleasurable, especially if you are using premium-priced products. Â So if it bothers you, send it back. Â There are plenty of 35 crons in the world, new and used. Â Some might even be reasonably priced
