it's a tooling socket! it indicates engineered & stamped by Zenith for Leica - you may need to fold & insert a piece of paper to ensure a tight fit..Be interesting to see the top plate...B)  L

I think the figure can help when we have more than one digital camera, as each has it's own SD orientation.

Myself, each time I look at the right SD orientation before inserting the card.

A.noctilux.   I don’t understand your problem.   The SDcard doesn’t slide in to the slot the wrong way round.  This debate is simply an example of “making a mountain out of a molehill”! or are you just bored?

Don't you have more than one device which use SD card ?

I do have some other cameras which use Compactflash cards, even some with the two types , CF + SD cards.
