joonas Posted April 15, 2020 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2020 I have and love it. My favourite focal length and SL2 is my favourite camera of the four I own (SL SL2 M10M and M10 Edition Zagato) I had the 90 but was stolen from me as was the Summilux-SL 50. Going to get the 75 and 90 and probably the rest of the Summicron-SLs, such a superb lenses.
Jeff S Posted April 15, 2020 Share #3 Posted April 15, 2020 There are many discussions regarding this lens, especially since Peter Karbe said (in his interview with Hugh Brownstone) that he considered it the best lens ever made (presumably ones he's made). Then DXO released a controversial review of the lens, and another long thread ensued... There has also been discussion comparing the lens to the SL50. A quick search using the search box will show this and other discussions, some of which include pics along the way. And of course, there are the photo forums as well a thread dedicated to SL pictures going back 5 years. The more recent posts surely include pics from the SL 35... leicamr Posted April 16, 2020 Share #6 Posted April 16, 2020 I have the 35 and 75 APO SL's. Both stunning also at f2. The 50 f2 is order.
jplomley Posted April 16, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) 35 and 75 SL APO lens pairing here. Just waiting for the 21 APO and its a fantastic trio. Enough MP in the SL2 to crop the 21 to 28, the 35 to 50, and the 75 to 90 if need be. Which pretty much covers everything I need in just three stellar optics (assuming the 21 APO will be stellar). jplomley Posted April 16, 2020 Share #8 Posted April 16, 2020 Like leicamr, was considering the 50, but too close to 75, and the 35 can be cropped to 50 readily enough. Plus, after the mind blowing performance of the 35 APO, I fear I'd be let down by the 50.
scroy Posted April 17, 2020 Share #9 Posted April 17, 2020 I have both the 35SL and 75SL. Both are spectacular. I'm looking forward to seeing the 21mm and wondering when we'll see a lens roadmap update.

These are exactly my thoughts (sole exception: I‘m using the SL 90 in lieu of 75)...
scott kirkpatrick Posted April 17, 2020 Share #11 Posted April 17, 2020 35, 50 and 75 SCs here. While they overlap somewhat, each has things it does best. Next up in line is an S 100/2.0 that I recently found for about half price, which works out to be a little less than a new SL-SC. Haven't got it here yet. 100 is a focal length that I have liked before. And maybe someday I will be able to find an affordable S3 to use it on (with its sister, a 120 APO Summarit that I have had for a long time). Someday, too, there will be a 24 Summicron SL. It is the perfect combination in terms of versatility, size and as already mentioned the ability to crop in with the SL2 resolution. The rendering is great and I think it has truly solidified my decision to upgrade from the SL to SL2 due to the flexibility it provides in terms of cropping. I have and love the 24-90 SL, but due to the size the 35 SL has found its way as the primary lens I have been using. I also have the 21 3.4M when I want to go a bit wider and smaller and the 50 1.4M and this combination + SL2 with 35 SL all fits into a Peak Design Everyday Sling V1 5L bag for a very manageable/portable set-up. In my opinion anyone with the SL2 will not regret the decision to buy the 35 SL.
