Sold my 90mm M APO for a 75 APO L for use on my SL typ 601; never looked back. Almost never miss a shot wide open anymore and the optical performance is simply stellar. I no longer shoot above 50mm with an M, for which the 50 Lux Asph suits me just fine.

Test shot at home, I think I’m starting to like it. Shot is wide open, both eyes should’ve been in focus which is easier stopped down. Anyway, I like the rendering of the 90 cron

I played around my lenses this morning and wondering... is 90mm summicron the smallest 90mm f/2 manual lens in the world?  If there was a smaller one with f/2, which one?

The  Nikkor 85mm f2 is compact, if 85mm is considered close enough to 90mm.  I have a black Nikon S mount version which can be used with an adapter.

The R 90/2 is probably shorter but it is not an RF lens.

Sorry I should say including SLR and ML, everything.  The 90 cron is among the smallest.

Yes it seems to be about the same size.
