Folks,

I'm thinking about buying the new Leica selfie stick, but wanted to hear from people that have used one. I've searched these forums and haven't found the answers, but do point me to any relevant answers. Specifically:

• Just to take a poll - Do you prefer the mahogany or carbon fibre finish 
• Other than Leica cameras can you use it with other brands?
• Keeping an eye on cost, does it make sense to buy the shooting stick adapter?
• Eventually I want to use it on both a Leica M-A and S007...any feedback

On a different thread, are they in the shops yet? I did call Leica to inquire. The first person I spoke to, a lovely lady called Apryl in customer services, said that they should be everywhere - but I've yet to see one.

Images of the stick please? There is a Titanium special edition too. Far too expensive; 12.000 $ is over the top, even if there are only104 made. Leica should niot waste their R&D resources on silly special editions. The engineers employed designing it would be better employed working on the Video-only M10-V which has been delayed for too long!

Please rest assured that they are not wasting their resources; like so many of their accessories they are sourced from outside companies on an OEM basis. (In this case it is believed that the supplier is a well known provider of outrageously overpriced straps.)

I’ve already ordered the limited edition Bruce Gilden version. It’s got a built-in flash and it’s only six inches long to get close to the action..

I went with the Stick-D version which also has a holder for an iPhone to allow you to review the images using the Fotos app.

I think it makes for a purer, more “film-like” selfie taking experience.

I already have the black paint Leica stick, but I'm hoping Leica come up with a version for stirring white paint as well.

Already noticed, if one turns the selfie stick over, it's possible to mount a Bruce Gilden defense weapon, a boxing glove or something like on the other end, to give him the right answer for unauthorized, degrading close-ups😀.
