Had four days in Budapest recently, my first visit, so much to see there that I know I will have to go again so would be interesting if others can add their photo's too.

Great Shots , I myself and a friend enjoyed Budapest around Christmas 8 years ago.  Had seats and dinner at the Opera would have been more enjoyable but when waiting to  enter got my  wallet picked.  Didn't realize this until  we were leaving and had to  walk back to  the hotel  in the snow and my girlfriend  was really pissed. When leaving we almost missed  our flight because of her late shopping , in a rush to  get aboard I left my camera at the check in station.  Lost all my wonderful pictures at the opera. Still  a great trip!

Oh my goodness - that sounds like a nightmare of a trip.  My Hotel was right by the Hungarian State Opera which is undergoing restoration at the moment so only open short hours for guided tours, and completely covered up.   The Christmas Markets are supposed to be wonderful, and  I would have definitely have preferred snow to the lashing rain.

Lovely set Jayne.

It's a great place for strolling with a Leica. It would be great for a Forum One Challenge (Athens this year....) - it may well have been used already, but I wasn't there if it was and I can't see anything in the OC archive (butI'm sure I'll be corrected!)

In honor of Sir Nicholas Winton, whose remarkable story was shared on the BBC.  He kept his story secret for decades, having saved 600+ Jewish children's lives.

An incredible story; the video below is quite moving and well worth watching.

I remember. watching this episode of "That's life" when it was first shown on BBC, seeing all those survivors standing up around him was such a beautiful event, thanks for the link and the memory Rob, and for sharing your images, hoping for more.

Yes, it would be a wonderful venue, I think it was one of the destinations in the vote for this years challenge.  Loving that street furniture!
